Love Affairs

Hard to keep a love affair
from eyes that pry
wonders
why
others can't leave secrets

Affairs
running against the grain
needing this time's love

Secrets
unbearable as is wonderful
within each others
bodies

Purity
polluted pale
transformed to unclean
by those
eyes

Powers
far and near
clamouring not to let love alone

They pry
hollow yells
too good
too true
for you

Those eyes
which haunt beauty
unravel truth
contain love's joy

Alone
brave face
conclusion of parting
last stand
against pressure

If those eyes
had love of their own
would they leave
love affairs alone
