Thoughts of a Congregation

If you don't open the door
to Satan-er,
- the preacher sang -
He can't come in -er.
That's what I got to tell you
brothers and sisters -er.
What God wants you to hear today -er.

'Amen' the congregation chorused
but one was thinking
Does satan use doors.
Does satan wait to be invited in.
Maybe HE's already entered.

He rules many men -er
many women -er
but he has no autho -rity over God -er
And if you give your heart
to the LORD
Satan's gonna turn on his heels and
flee the scene
- the preacher sang.

'Amen' the congregation chorused
but now another was thinking
I do believe but I don't feel free.
I am saved but am I safe.
I once was blind
and still I can not see.

Preacher sang -
If you know God -er
you know right from wrong
If he's touched you with his divinity
now you can truly see,
now there is no more darkness -er
If you've experienced
in his tender caress
fear is a distant concern to you -er.

Once more they chorused 'Amen'
but yet another thought
my right is her wrong
her wrong is my right.
And also,
sometimes the dark hours
are illuminate the most.
As well as,
And how I long to be caressed
And, how I fear loneliness.

Can I get an amen to that
- called the preacher -
and almost all the congregation
resounded
'Amen'.
