The Wishing Words

I wanted to
read to you,
because I wanted you to hear me read,
words that I wish I'd written,
that describe experiences I know we’ve shared.

I wanted to
take that last expression of yours,
and augment it perfectly,
speak words that compliment yours,
that describe feelings I know I have.

I wanted to
write you the letter,
that would make you consider me,
craft words for the love of you,
that describe thoughts I‘ve known.

I wanted to
O' how I wanted to.
Silence speaking louder.
Words I know have failed me.
