From My Dream, I Awaken.
Under a mystic sky as seen through
forbidden eyes
i awaken from my dream.
Feeling halfhearted with disease and conceit
i struggle with life’s meaning and
the expectations
i fail too meet.
Not in myself or in others minds
but in God’s holy light.
I walk through a desolate land
full of fools and mere mortals
who believe in their shallow lives
and stand judgment in the pain of others.
Non believers retreat from my path
i shall not succumb to your demons.
Once you filled my soul with endless grief
and made anger my only pleasure.
Go now,
be gone to your dungeons of snakes and dragons,
it is your home, your only destination.
Mine is in the hope and the love we all seek,
the very sight of heaven.
I wish to sleep now,
fall back into my dreams where beauty
fills me so.
Let me wake when my heart is at peace
for my mind is sure to follow.
