Too busy too...

I wanted to put W-R-I-T-E
but I dare not, fearing
that spelling it out will
make it true.
Is there sometimes a dilemma
between the 'creative' you
and the 'rent paying' you?
Between the pulse of life that’s
love poured onto the page and
the racing pulse induced by
the beat of your heart, as you
wake too late, rush too slowly
and miss that connection.
Not that you wanted to get to work
early, just that you can’t
afford to be late yet again.

Still, no matter how much you feel distracted by the obstacles that stand in the way of you and your art, you know that once the point-less rushing is over, you’ll be able to return -once again- to the intense imagery rendered with care and affection by your words.
