FORMER EDITORIAL

Air of Romance    2nd August 2006

In Paris, I found myself trying to find those themes and flavours that define a city. Like Amsterdam with its canals and cyclists,
Paris is like - editorial
a lingering touch - editorialand Barcelona with its street Art, Gaudíbillia and bustling La Rambla.

I didn’t find it in the café life or the Eiffel experience (though the view from Palais de Chaillot is impressive).
No, it wasn’t places or spaces but human behaviour that kept informing me about Parisian life. Each day you’d see at least five couples (young and older) locked in that act of legend; the French Kiss. of romance - editorial
just imagine - editorialThis led me to conclude, despite myself, that Paris was about romance. And of course, romance is one of the great themes of literature, plain old writing, and poetry both ancient and modern.
So did it inspire me to write romantically? Well, I’ll have to leave that to your imagination (smile).
