 Learning in Common
(reflecting on our development as writers)

Perhaps it’s a good time to ask yourself what you’ve learned over the past twelve months?
What were you writing like back then, and are you writing any differently now?
On and on.
On and on.
Sometimes just keeping moving forward seems enough.
But we’ve got to be able to pause, to think about where our writing has come from and where it’s going. Where we’ve come from as writers and what we want our next destination to be.
We all learn differently. But it seems as though there are some common elements to learning.
By doing.
By reflecting on what, why, how we’ve done.
By thinking about what, why, how we could have done it differently.
By re-doing.
By examining what others have done; what we like and dislike about the way they did it.
By sharing, discussing, presenting our work, whilst building the confidence of ourselves.
Perhaps it’s a good time to ask yourself what you’ve learned over the past twelve months?  What’s been gained?  What’s the same?  What needs to change?
