Richard annoys her, she feels he is over simplistic in his view towards the world; that he doesn't fully understand the multi-tasking that the average woman, such as herself, has to do in this day and age (episodes 5 and 6 archive). She seeks independence.

Monica is an old, good and very accessible (as a jobbing actor) friend. For example, when Evoke drops out of work to go to Spain (episode 9 archive), she takes Monica with her. Monica has been seeking that career changing part for some time, but with only her talent as an actor (her looks are ordinary and her figure is not to die for) to go on, she is finding it difficult.

After returning from Spain, she dreams of leaving her job and life in England (London) to live their in a small hill top village.
