Poem Psalm for Kristena

FEATURED WORK

Psalm for Kristena (The Spirit Within Knows The Way)

As I was cruising through this life
enjoying the sounds and sights
Without question but with foresight,
I did take the time to work on a future plan
where there would be no strife,
and I would do things right,
but life happened.

Now I am traveling with a companion
and we point out to each other along the way
those things which appeal to our taste.
Other travelers on this road
are moving at a much swifter pace.
I am not sure that I want to continue
but there is no time to waste.

Things begin to unravel.
I make a decision to slow down,
to search for a different road…to travel.

While traveling along on the road of life,
I decided to take the My Way Highway.
If it had not been for my fellow traveling companion
I do not think that I would have ever seen this exit; this light.
I stopped,
my companion got off this new road without me.

Now I am alone,
cruising along the My Way Highway
looking for all the signs and further direction,
my instinct to stay on this road is my best protection.
Though I have been on this road for a while
It seems to be more my style.
There is peace here.

(The Spirit Within Knows The Way)

I’m Cruising now
and the ride is blissful
once again it is time to make an exit.
I make a right turn
and proceed to a fork in the road.

With no other instructions
My instinct says follow the path that’s clearest.
Knowing how to get back onto the highway of life
is what my heart holds dearest.
I will never be lost again.

Amazed, I no longer ask why
I am compelled to choose this route.
There have been many experiences along the way
At this point nothing can keep me out.
“You are now entering Faith”, read all the signs ahead.

Ahead of me I see a horizon,
that is vaster than I can conceive.
I move forward through the rays of
determination and esteem.
This has changed me for good, I do believe.

Now I am more equipped with trust
to go anywhere my spirit leads.
all the baggage I will ever need
is peacefully within me;
and still life happens.
