Unheard Words

You can be so sweet
You can fill the world with light
You make every single one of us, ashamed of who we are
You make us all feel half dead
AS if only you can see the truth
You make us all yearn, to share your every hour
We hang on your every move
We hang on your every word
We ache to be you, we feel so small.
And all the time we all know
That should we say the wrong words
That should we ask the wrong things
You can draw a line beneath us and send us back from where we came
Maybe its you who holds us back
Pushing your weight full down on the hose
You stop us bursting forth
Stop us being all that we should be.
We can all be rainbows
We can all be puddles
But we should never protect, anyone from who they think they are
For our own good
We should only stand on the shoulders
Of those who cry out for the weight of our bones
Pressing down hard into there own
You can't push your child's head in the pool
To swim stronger than them all
You can't, you can't, I can't , I won't
Take my breath and stand on my cage
Lift yourself above all this please babe
I dream of your sunshine, I dream of your warmth
I love you for you are the best of me
I love you for you are all that I could not be
You breath life deep into me, when I should be forgot.
Yet something shouts, we all have life
Something screams, we all have breath
Something whispers, we all have hope
And I will always sleep at your side.
